A well-maintained five-bedroom house in Greystones dating from the 19th century is on the market and should attract significant interest, writes Gillian Nelis.
When Patrick Kinlen agreed to lease a plot of land in the Burnaby area of Greystones, Co Wicklow in 1897 for six pounds and ten shillings a year, there were a number of conditions attached to the lease by the site's owner, Elizabeth Main.
Kinlen had to spend at least £830 on the construction of a substantial semi-detached house on the site, and he couldn't use it for activities such as keeping an alehouse, distilling liquor...
