Tullow Oil has suspended the Paipai-1 exploration well in Kenya for ongoing evaluation, after failing to recover hydrocarbons.
Tullow has a 50 per cent operated interest in the Paipai-1 well with Africa Oil holding 30 per cent and Afren holding the remaining 20 per cent.
Angus McCoss, Exploration Director of Tullow Oil said: "As we were unable to recover the hydrocarbons encountered whilst drilling, the well needs additional assessment.
