Tullow Oil has reduced its production guidance for the year, but the promise of Ghana, Uganda and even India should more than overshadow slowing production in the North Sea.

Tullow’s performance so far this year has confirmed what Davy Stockbrokers described as its transformation from ‘‘scavenger to mature explorer’’.

Such a move vindicate the strategy of Tullow’s chief executive Aidan Heavey in recent years.
