A contingent of 440 Irish troops will depart for a tour of UN duty in the Lebanon in June, some five months before they will be joined by their Finnish military partners.

The Department of Defence is seeking tenders for two charter flights from Dublin to Beirut, with the first batch of soldiers leaving on June 23 and the second batch of 200 troops departing four days later.
