Troy was captured when Greek warriors, hidden in a wooden horse, managed to get inside its walls. After a siege, said to have lasted ten years, the Greeks pretended to withdraw.

Leaving the famous horse behind, they sailed away in their ships. The Trojans brought the horse into the city and the rest, as they say, is history.
