Trichet makes case for more Euro integration
With three weeks to serve as the governor as the European Central Bank, Jean-Claude Trichet spoke to the Financial Times about why the present crisis toughens the case for further integration in the euro area
Jean-Claude Trichet, who is very nearly at the end of an eight year term at the helm of the European Central Bank, has expressed optimism for the future of Europe.
Noting the severity of the present debt crisis, Trichet said he believed its long term result would be to propel Europe toward closer integration.
