Brian Souter, the Scottish transport tycoon, has acquired a stake in CJ Fallon, the Irish schoolbook publisher.

Brian Souter, the Scottish transport tycoon, has acquired a stake in CJ Fallon, the Irish schoolbook publisher, through his private investment vehicle, Souter Investments.

Souter, who founded the quoted bus company Stagecoach, has taken a "significant minority stake" in the company, having agreed a deal with the publisher's new owners, Lonsdale Capital Partners.
