Transport chaos for bank holiday weekend

More than 300,000 people will pass through Ireland's three main airports, while another 300,000 are travelling by Irish Rail over the bank holiday weekend.

More than 300,000 people will pass through Ireland's three main airports, while another 300,000 are travelling by Irish Rail over the bank holiday weekend.

Dublin Airport is handling 250,000 passengers on 1,800 flights, including 150 charters to holiday destinations. The most popular destinations include Las Palmas, Lanzarote, Tenerife and Spain, according to the airport.

Cork Airport is also busy, with 33,000 passengers due to travel by Tuesday. The airport is handling 80 flights a day, a spokesman said.
