Trade surplus tops €4 billion in July

There was a seasonally-adjusted increase in exports of €452 million (or six per cent) in July from June, preliminary figures from the Central Statistics Office show.

There was a seasonally-adjusted increase in exports of €452 million (or six per cent) in July from June, preliminary figures from the Central Statistics Office show.

The unadjusted trade surplus in July was €4.1 billion while the seasonally adjusted trade surplus increased by 12.6 per cent to €3.9 billion.

Chemicals and related products accounted for €4.9 billion (or 62%) of the total exports of €7.9 billion in July 2012.
