German visitors to Ireland rose 8 per per cent to 416,000 last year.

Tourism Ireland and 15 Irish tourism companies have begun a trade mission to Germany.

The mission will take in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Hamburg and aims to increase Ireland’s share of the valuable German holiday and business tourism market this year, Tourism Ireland said in a statement. German visitors to Ireland rose 8 per per cent to 416,000 last year, generating €200 million in revenue for the economy, it said.
