Topaz to drop Shell and Statoil brands in €15 million revamp

The Shell and Statoil brands will disappear from Irish filling stations this week as Irish firm Topaz Energy starts rebranding its business.

The Shell and Statoil brands will disappear from Irish filling stations this week as Irish firm Topaz Energy starts rebranding its business.

Topaz, which is owned by investors led by Dublin finance house Ion Equity, will announce a major investment programme, including the rebranding of about 350 filling stations.

Industry sources said the rebranding alone could cost €15 million.
