Top car firms' sales hit €1bn

Ireland's top 20 motor firms had sales of almost €1.1 billion in their last financial year, but made pre-tax profits of just €10.5 million.

Ireland's top 20 motor firms had sales of almost €1.1 billion in their last financial year, but made pre-tax profits of just €10.5 million.

The top five companies by turnover made profits of just over €8 million on turnover of €613 million, according to information compiled by the publishing company Business Pro. Profitability varied considerably in the sector.
