Tony Blair interview: North must focus on future, not the past

Northern Ireland must look ahead if it wants to overcome its ongoing difficulties, Tony Blair tells Niall O'Dowd.

Tony Blair has said in an interview he was “worried” about the impact of Gerry Adams’s recent arrest over the Jean McConville case, and said he believed the focus in the North needed to be on the future, not the past.

The former British prime minister, who devoted notable energy to the Northern peace process, spoke of his admiration for the Sinn Féin leader and for Martin McGuinness.
