Tony awards continue at Providence despite losses

The pay packet of chief executive Tony O'Reilly junior continues to grow, writes Barry J Whyte.

While losses at Providence Resources have climbed, so has the remuneration package for chief executive Tony O’Reilly junior.

Last week’s annual general meeting heard that accumulated losses at the company had gone from €5.3 million the previous year to €7.3 million at the end of 2013.

Meanwhile, Providence accounts show that O’Reilly had a total remuneration package of €494,000, plus €209,000 in share-based payments, up from the previous year’s package of €494,000...
