Three bids for the assets of Bord Gais Eireann are expected to be received by tomorrow evening's deadline. Viridian, the Northern Ireland electricity company, Centrica of Britain and US investment fund Blackstone are all thought likely to lodge final bids. Brookfield, a Canadian company interested in Bord Gais's wind assets, also remains interested and may bid on its own for these, or may join up with one of the existing bidders.
