Thousands to attend art fair
The Art Ireland Spring Collection, a three-day ‘mini version’ of the Art Ireland fair held each November, opens on Friday at the RDS in Dublin.
Now in its fifth year, the event is expected to attract 6,000 visitors, while organisers hope to sell about €1 million worth of paintings, prints, photography and sculptures.
Almost 100 exhibitors from Ireland and abroad – individual artists and gallery collections – will be attending.
The event’s organiser, Maria McMenamin, said last year’s November fair had 200 exhibitors, 10,000 visitors and sold between €3 million and €3.5 million worth of art. She said the Irish art marketplace...
