The thoroughbred horse industry in Ireland sustains 22,000 jobs and is worth €1 billion a year to the Irish economy, according to a report to be published this week.

It found that the sector was generating annual exports of €210 million, with the industry supplying thoroughbred bloodstock to more than 40 countries.
