Thorntons Recycling posts €4.8m profit

Waste firm Thorntons Recycling made an operating profit of €4.8million last year as sales rose, but warned of the imminent downturn in the Irish economy.

Waste firm Thorntons Recycling made an operating profit of €4.8million last year as sales rose, but warned of the imminent downturn in the Irish economy.

New accounts for the firm showed that turnover rose to €44.5 million last year, from €42.8 million in 2006. However, the company described 2007 as ‘‘a difficult trading year’’, and said that the outlook for this year was uncertain.
