Thorntons in deal to recycle scrapped cars

Waste processor Thorntons Recycling has created six new jobs at its new €1million End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV) facility in Ballyfermot in Dublin.

Waste processor Thorntons Recycling has created six new jobs at its new €1million End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV) facility in Ballyfermot in Dublin. The jobs include three staff employed directly to run the facility and a further three indirect jobs created to collect vehicles for recycling.

A spokeswoman for Thorntons said the company had already signed contracts to recycle 21 car brands, including Hyundai, Mazda, Volvo, Subaru, Opel, Ford, Mitsubishi, Land Rover and Toyota. She said...
