On a sunny day in Dublin, visitors to St Patrick’s Cathedral pause as they hear the sweet unbroken voices of a schoolboy choir. They linger to absorb this unexpected pleasure delivered by boys aged between nine and 13, all robed in blue cassocks and gathered around a piano in the Lady chapel.

As voices soar, spirits are high. The school holidays are a matter of days away for these St Patrick’s Choir School pupils....
