Every sport has special dates which do much to concentrate the minds of aficionados.

A certain Sunday in September, in the case of Gaelic football enthusiasts. And another Sunday in the same month for those whose world revolves around the clash of the ash. In that special universe devoted to hunting, shooting and fishing, special dates relate in the main to the opening of new seasons.
