This weekend, one of the horseracing outings of the year, the Irish Derby, has been taking place at the Curragh in Co Kildare.

As is customary, Chryss Goulandris O’Reilly, the wife of former billionaire Tony O’Reilly, had several of her horses entered to race over the festival: the Dermot Weld-trained filly Chinese Light, the well regarded three-year-old Red Raven, and Champs-Elysée winner Avenue Gabriel.
