Italian football moves to avoid being left behind

Italian football authorities made a move last week that could have far-reaching consequences for the country’s smaller clubs. Serie A has decided to copy the format of the English Premier League in a breakaway from Serie B.

This will increase the league’s share of television revenue, similar to what happened with the Premier League in 1992.
