Responding to national demand for quality engineers across Ireland’s medical technology sector, Ibec’s Irish Medical Devices Association (IMDA), last year introduced a bespoke re-training programme for quality engineers under the government’s Springboard initiative.
“The IMDA’s Springboard programme was developed specifically to enable unemployed engineers and technicians of traditional disciplines to convert to the life sciences sector,” said Pauline O’Flanagan, IMDA Springboard project manager.
