The English capital attracted some of Ireland's highest of high rollers during the boom, but investors now see it as a safe if expensive haven, writes Philip Connolly.

London has long been a popular destination for Irish money, and many Irish property developers and investors looked towards the British capital during the boom.

With the Irish market in a precarious state, London has been a relative oasis of calm. Many Irish people still have residential and commercial assets in the city, while others are selling off London assets to pay down their debts.
