Irish companies were out in force at last week's Mobile World Congress conference in Barcelona, writes Adrian Weckler.

The Irish are coming
Among the dozens of Irish exhibitors at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona were Alan Coleman of Brite:bill.

The Mobile World Congress (MWC), which attracted more than 60,000 people and had more than 1,500 exhibiting companies, is the world's biggest showpiece for mobile handset manufacturers and software developers.

Among the dozens of exhibiting Irish companies was the S3 Group, the Cork-based chip and set-top box company founded by Maurice Whelan that has grown to employ 250 people in the last ten years.
