Pension issue shows risks with Glanbia co-op deal

News last week that Glanbia plc will have to come up with an alternative timeframe for dealing with its pension deficit may cause some alarm among farmer suppliers of the coop.

It might be a little premature to say that Glanbia co-op members had a lucky escape when insufficient numbers of them voted in favour of buying the Irish assets from Glanbia plc, and much of the pension deficit with it.
