Pat Cooney, the man at the helm of the Gleeson group which has just been bought by C&C for €12.4 million, once compared finding the natural water spring that supplies Tipperary Water to striking oil.

An accountant by profession, he and his late brother Nicky bought bottling company M & J Gleeson almost 40 years ago for IR£200,000.
