The earning power of stallions

Last week's Questions & Answers programme on RTE 1 dealt with tax exemption on stud fees for stallion owners. Nobody asked how many mares are typically covered by a thoroughbred stallion in a season, or what fees are typically charged.

Why was there not a representative from the stud owners on the panel or in the audience? Similarly, should we not have heard from a stable hand about the throughput of mares?
