An Bord Snip Nua has reportedly turned its attention to the €2 billion medicines bill which is footed by the taxpayer.

The move could increase the penetration of generic drugs which are copies of innovator medicines if it bolsters the government’s plan to challenge the virtual closed shop that big pharmaceutical groups enjoy here.
