This is the start of the asparagus season. I know asparagus is available all year round, but most of it comes from Peru - which is no help to those of us trying to eat seasonal, local produce. There is nothing like the fresh, local stuff when it’s in season, which is from now until the end of May.

I’m not singing its praises because it lacks air miles - I just think...
