There is little doubt now among climate scientists that man-made carbon emissions are causing damaging and unpredictable climate change.

Less certain is just what can be done to mitigate the problem. For Irish companies and investors, European and national policy decisions aimed at reducing emissions could have massive implications in the coming years.

EU leaders are expected to at least attempt to agree headline goals for carbon reduction in 2030 at a summit in October....
