The new head of retail banking at KBC Bank senses opportunities in the deposit market, but stresses that the bank is open for mortgage business too, writes Emma Kennedy.

KBC Bank is planning to grow its retail banking business, and has headhunted a senior banking industry figure to help it achieve its aim.

After more than a decade in a variety of senior roles at EBS Building Society, Dara Deering has joined KBC as an executive director and its head of retail banking. Most recently she was director of EBS's retail business and chief executive of EBS Mortgage Finance.
