One of the main shareholders in Dublin station Radio Nova is currently operating a temporary classic rock radio station - The Rock - in Cork, Limerick and Galway, in a bid to establish whether there is an appetite for the genre beyond the capital.
The Rock has been broadcasting on Saturdays and Sundays since October 5. It is operated by Bay Broadcasting under a temporary broadcasting licence from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI).
