Tesco CEO to step down after profit warning

Tesco’s chief executive Philip Clarke is to quit after the British retailer issued a profit warning.

Tesco CEO Philip Clarke will step down in September, the British retailer said this morning, after a profit warning was issued for the company.

Clarke will remain in the role until October 1 and will then step down from the company’s board.

He will be replaced by David Lewis, an executive at Unilever.
