Tensions between Russia and its neighbouring countries increased yesterday as Ukraine declared it was ready to make its missile warning systems available for western countries.

Tensions between Russia and its neighbouring countries increased yesterday as Ukraine declared it was ready to make its missile warning systems available for western countries.

This followed comments from a Russian general which threatened Poland with a nuclear strike after it signed a deal with the US to set up a missile shield on Polish soil. The US said this is aimed at blocking attacks by rogue nations such as Iran.
