Investors seeking double-digit returns from technology stocks in 2005 need to focus on firms that are benefiting from consolidation in the industry and their customers' need for cost control, according to Irish and US analysts.
The performance of the technology sector has been unimpressive in the first half of 2005, with the Nasdaq index little changed since January.
In 2004, the Nasdaq rose only 6 per cent despite IT-related spending having grown rapidly last year and this year.
