Lightstorm Networks, an Irish technology firm that raised €16 million from investors, is set to collapse in a major blow to the government’s hopes for a new knowledge economy.

The semi-conductor firm has operations in Ireland, the US and Asia, and had raised millions from private equity companies and government agencies, such as Enterprise Ireland and the Western Development Commission.
