Eircom and Smyths team up

Eircom has finalised a deal with Smyths Toys Superstores, which will see the chain move its online IT infrastructure and related data to Eircom's newly-launched cloud services platform, powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Smyth's said the multi-year contract with Eircom was undertaken in order to provide greater scalability to its IT infrastructure and lower cost of services. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
