Taxpayers who think they might be owed money by the Revenue Commissioners could be in for a post-Christmas cash bonanza but they need to act quickly, writes Yvonne Moran.

From December 31, the Revenue is reducing the number of years in which taxpayers can claim refunds from ten to four.

So taxpayers owed a refund dating back to 1994 must apply to the Revenue before December 31.
