Tax authorities in Ireland and Britain could lay claim to a portion of the €60,000 that Taoiseach Bertie Ahern received in three tranches in 1993 and 1994.

However, tax experts are divided on whether Ahern would be successful in arguing that no tax was applicable in any challenge.
