The Exchequer recorded a deficit of €104 million at the end of September, an improvement of €5.9 billion on the same period last year on the back of a better-than-expected tax performance, the Department of Finance said.
Data released by the Department showed that tax revenue was 5.8 per cent ahead of target, driven by corporation tax which grew by nearly 46 per cent year-on-year and was 44 per cent ahead of target.
