Tax revenue for the period from January to the end of August was 0.2 per cent lower than forecasted, according to the latest figures from the Department of Finance.

The Exchequer Returns for the end of August show an Exchequer deficit of €7,334 million, an improvement of €4,013 million compared to the first eight months of 2012. For the month of August, the Exchequer recorded a deficit of €2,167 million.
