Tax Institute warns on further tax hikes

With Irish households thousands of euro worse off than in 2008, the prospect of generating additional tax revenue from a shrinking number of taxpayers is increasingly unsustainable, according to the Irish Tax Institute.

The Tax Institute presented its annual pre-budget briefing this morning in Dublin, and warned of the consequences of further tax hikes in December's budget. "Imposing new and additional taxes on taxpayers can not be done without consequences.
