IDA Ireland plans to use tax breaks to target potential buyers in Asia for a Pfizer drug factory at Loughbeg in Cork, where 225 jobs are under threat.
Pfizer last week announced plans to ‘exit’ its factories at Loughbeg and Shanbally in Cork and Dun Laoghaire in Dublin, which employ a total of 510 people. It is also scaling down operations at a factory in Newbridge, Co Kildare, with the loss of 275 jobs.
