Taoiseach Enda Kenny said that the Irish people won’t be “bribed” by anybody on the country’s planned referendum on the European fiscal compact.

Kenny said that negotiations to reduce the burden of promissory notes used to bail out Anglo Irish Bank was an entirely separate matter. The comments by the Taoiseach, who is in Brussels today, were aired by RTÉ and reported on Bloomberg.
