Taoiseach Enda Kenny has said the planned cut in the disability allowance for young people has been paused pending a review by the Commission on Social Welfare and Taxation.

RTE said Kenny said the government agreed that it should be reviewed because of the sensitivity of the issue.

Minister for Finance Michael Noonan earlier repeated his commitment to revisit cuts announced as part of the Budget to the allowance for young disabled people.
