Taoiseach apologises to Magdalene Laundry survivors

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has apologised on behalf of the State and the Irish people to the survivors of the Magdalene Laundries.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has apologised on behalf of the State and the Irish people to the survivors of the Magdalene Laundries. The government has instigated a three month review to examine what help it can provide to survivors, he said.

"I, as Taoiseach, on behalf of the State, the Government and our citizens deeply regret and apologise unreservedly to all those women for the hurt that was done to them," he told the Dail.
