Entrepreneurial students at University College Cork (UCC) are spearheading a unique initiative to garner real world experience in the fundamentals of financial analysis.

The idea behind UCC Student Managed Fund - which was established by the university's Accounting & Finance Society - is to encourage socially-con scious investment among the university's student body.

Cillian Ryan, chair of UCC Accounting & Finance Society, said the fund would give students a competitive advantage in the jobs market.
