The mentoring trend is gathering pace, with this month's announcement by mobile operator Vodafone that it plans to host a series of events nationwide offering start-up advice and insights from established entrepreneurs.

The Smart Start-up Network will comprise a series of talks, mentoring workshops and networking sessions.

Vodafone is also launching an online and mobile learning resource to support the programme with first-hand insights from successful entrepreneurs.
